Front line Yoruba Journalist and Publisher of Alariya Oodua, Lanre Dodo Balogun is dead.
Dodo as Balogun is popularly called died yesterday Teusday ,27 October 2015,at his home at Iyana - Iyesi Otta Ogun State ,southwest Nigeria.
Speaking this morning when sympathisers visited his residence ,Lanre Balogun's wife popularly called Mama Dodo said that her husband was not sick 'he was dressed and about going for an outing ,he told me that he was feeling dizzy and before I could say jack he started gasping for breath. By the time we got to the hospital he was certified dead'.
According to feelers from a family meeting held today the remains of Lanre Dodo Balogun will be buried on Friday 30, October 2015.
He was aged 55.

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi,the Ojaja II is from the Giesi royal family of Agbedegbede ,Ife,Osun State.

Few months after the death of the Oonirisa Oba Okunade Sijuade,his second in command  ,Obalufe of the source Oba Solomon Omisakin is dead.
Aged 85,Oba Omisakin who is also the Prime minister of Ile Ife  was said to have died in his palace yesterday.
Until his death the late Oba was holding forth for the Ooni.
The family is yet to announce the burial programme for the late Obalufe.

Afro juju creator, Akanbi Oluwashina Peters  aka SSP recently cried openly and asked his friends and fans to pray for his wife Sammy Peters who is down with cancer.
The event was at the 70th birthday of juju veteran Emperor Wale Olateju  at Martinos hotel,Ikeja, Lagos last Wednesday.
SSP who was having a group performance with Dele Abiodun,Ayo Balogun ,Ludare and Wale Olateju said that he came to Nigeria from United States of America where his wife,Sammy is currently receiving treatment and he will be returning next week to be with her.
While performing SSP suddenly burst into tears while singing 'Sammy ko ni Ku o'meaning Sammy will not die .He was led into his car by Ayo BALOGUN and others.
Recently the juju singer declared that his wife is down with cancer and is currently receiving treatment in an hospital in USA.
Apart from SSP,Dele Abiodun ,Ayo Balogun ,Megga "99 ,Seun Aransiola,Ludare and others performed in honour of Wale Olateju.

Following the use of armed policemen to harass and intimidate members of staff as well as sealing-off  the premises of Daily Independent Newspapers in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos by its Managing Director, Mr. Ted iwere,the Lagos State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalist,NUJ has called  for the immediate sack of Daily Independent M. D, Mr. Ted Iwere  
A statement signed by its chairman, Deji Elumoye and Secretary, Bimbo Oyetunde, stated that the Union viewed the use of police personnel to lock out the workers as an affront and insensitivity to the plight of workers.  “despite owing workers of the media outfit 23 months arrears of salaries, frustration and demotion of staff, management holding on to over four million Naira contribution of members to staff cooperative fund and non remittance of pension funds, among others, the Union had explored all avenues to dialogue with the management to resolve the issues but to no avail. Now, all the management feels it can do is to lock out the workers and use the police to intimidate them.   “In view of the above therefore, Lagos NUJ is calling on the for the sack of, Ted Iwere, with immediate effect for gross incompetence, misconduct and unprofessional attitude displayed so far”  
The Union  further called for the immediate vacation of the premises by the police and the re-opening of the newspaper office. And  failure to heed to the demands of the Union might lead to serious industrial dispute with the management.

Residents of Ebute Metta in Lagos Mainland Local Government ,Lagos State south west Nigeria are currently living in fear as some group of notorious gangsters are currently terrorising them.
Investigation revealed that their (gangsters) mode of operation by pretending to be fighting each other and later transfer the aggression to residents ,market women ,shop owners and passers by.
Ptng learned that during such attacks dangerous weapons such as cutlass, bottles and gun are used freely.
Investigation further revealed that the gangsters also injure and robb people of valuables items such as handsets, neck lace and money.
The residents told ptng that each time the gangsters strikes they  are always helpless because the police hardly come to their aid.
On Monday yours truly watch as the hoodlums had a free day at Oyingbo market ,shooting sporadically into the air to scare people away while they feast on the market women.

Sobulo according to a police source died in an hospital in Canada on Friday.
Investigation revealed that the police chief  died after a protracted illness.

An aide of Oshodi based leader of Nations Union Of Road Transport Worker,NURTW ,Musiliu Akinsanya aka Mc Oluomo,Mamora aka Mamok was reported killed this morning.
Investigation revealed that some unidentified gun men attacked  Mamok in Oshodi ,Oshodi -Isolo Local Government ,southwest Nigeria.
He was said to have died on the sport.
A source close to the Oluomo's camp said that they (members of the camp) have vow to avenge the death of Mamok .
Presently an uneasy calm reign in Oshodi .
