Ambode Impound 200 NURTW BRT Buses .

The Governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode has impounded over 200 BRT buses belonging to the National Union of Road Transport workers ,NURTW.

Ptng learned that the directive to impound the vehicles was given by the state governor through the office of the Honourable Commissioner for transport about two week ago.

The vehicles are said to have been impounded and kept at the toll gate park of the LAGBUS bus under the watchful eyes of stern looking mobile police officers.

A source close to the Lagos state government revealed that the vehicles were impounded due a power tussle between the state government and the NURTW following the introduction of blue LAMATA buses and a restriction order placed on the red buses .

Ptng investigation revealed that after the introduction of the blue buses the Lagos state government ban all the red buses from either loading or packing at the designated bus stops built on Ikorodu road and its environ for the blue buses.

This and the government plan to restrict the NURTW buses to Iyana Ipaja,Oshodi and Egbeda axis was said to have infuriated the leaders of NURTW who promised not to obey the order,on the excuse that they won't be able to complete the loan sourced from the bank to purchase the buses.
