Street Traders Return To Lagos Street.

Despite the law banning street trading in Lagos State,southwest, Nigeria ,hawkers have returned to street of Lagos with full force.
Investigations revealed that the hawkers who are between the ages of 10 to 15 are very prominent on streets of Lagos hawking, ground nuts, food,chin- chin,can and plastic soft drinks, wallnut and other items.
The hawkers are very prominent in Agege,Ikeja, ketu bus stop, Marina,Ojota,Mushin,Ajah ,Dopemu, Iyana Ipaja and Agidingbi .
Investigation further revealed that apart from hawking along the street of Lagos, they (hawkers) also display their wares at major bus stops which has been constituting nuisance to motorist.
Their modus operandi according to our findings is that they operate in a group of three or four and swarm on  their would be customers with all form of aggression thereby either damaging their vehicle or causing major distractions which sometimes lead to accident.
Some of the motorist both private and commercial who spoke with our correspondent complained bitterly about the activities of the street traders saying its has returned Lagos to its old status of chaotic Lagos.
A commercial motorist who ply Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi said the hawkers also serve as spies to robbers who snatches telephone handsets ,neck lace ,money and other wares from motorist as they create artificial traffic along major roads.
Another motorist who spoke with our correspondent said the influx of the street traders has defeated the existence of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) in Lagos State.

Islamic Musician Association of Nigeria,ISMAN has suspended two popular Islamic singers namely  Alhaji Ibrahim Labaeka and Ahmed Alawiye for anti group activities.
According to a release signed by the National President of ISMAN ,Alhaji Wasiu Kayode Al_Sadeeq ,they Labaeka and Alawiye  were suspended for conduct that can drag the name of the association in the mud.
Sadeeq said that the way the duo are involved in social vices such as extortion,hooliganism among other things which are aberration to the teachings of the Almighty Allah.
The ISMAN President said they (Labaeka and Alawiye) were found guilty by the disciplinary committee set up by the association and they have been suspended indefinitely.
Kayode Al-Sadeeq had berated Ahmed Alawiye and Barrister's daughter ,Modinat Ashabi Barrymade for their role during the election of the Lagos State Chapter of the association.

3 Killed As Police Declare War On Okada Riders.

Three persons have been reported killed in Oko-Oba area of Lagos State southwest Nigeria as policemen declare war on Okada  riders.
Ptng learned the police especially those from Oko-Oba,Abule Egba and its environs have been using the restriction order placed on the Okada ridders to exploit them.
Investigation revealed the police used  their patrol van to chase the commercial motorcycle ridders  and in the process hit them and their passengers.
Investigations further revealed that those arrested were taken to the Oko-Oba police station where they were made to pay the sum of two thousand two hundred before they are released .
Some of the Okada ridders plying Fagba,Abule Egba,new Oko-Oba road confirmed the story saying that the sum of two thousand naira are paid at the counter while two hundred naira are usually collected at the exit of the police station.
This morning an Okada carrying a middle aged woman was knocked down by a police van on Charity road killing her instantly.
The Policemen inside the van were said to have fled the scene to avoid being mobbed by sympathisers.
Some of the sympatisers at the scene confirmed the story saying that it's the usual practise of the policemen from Oko-Oba and those from Red house police station via Iju Station area of Lagos State.

Veteran Comedian Moses Olaiya Adejumo  aka Baba Sala  is critically ill.
Pntng learned that the health of the popular comedian cum musician deteriorated this week and he has been admitted at the University teaching hospital,Ibadan,Oyo State.
A family source who do not want her name in print confirm to ptng that Baba Sala who has been battling a mild stroke is in critical condition.
The source said that the family of the popular comedian are currently looking for funds to take care of the old man.
The Oorun mooru actor and producer suffered a mild stroke which affected one of his legs and voice after it was discovered that pirates has feasted on his film produced on celluloid 'oorun mooru' and ''.

An Ife High Chief and a former law maker .Hon Rotimi Makinde has denied the story making the round about the existence of 'abobaku' (the maid that will be buried alongside the oba) in Ile-Ife .
Makinde who is the Maiyegun of Ifewara said there is nothing like 'abobaku'but 'Saarun' the head of the 'Emese'the palace steward who follows the Oba everywhere he goes.
The Ile-Ife born chief added that the Saarun to the late Oba Adesoji Aderemi who died in 1980 was the late Yaya Arasanmi who passed on in 1987 that is seven years after the demise of the late Oba Aderemi.
Hon.Makinde said that as the late Oba Okunade Sijuade will be interred tomorrow nobody will be buried along with him.

As the king makers prepared to announce the death of the late Oonirisa of Ife ,Oba Okunade Sijuade  tomorrow, curfew has been imposed in the ancient city of Ife.
Pntng learned that the curfew is to allow the king makers perform the passage right for the late monarch.
They however enjoin residents to stay indoor and travellers to avoid Ile-Ife ,Osun State route.
Oba Okunade Sijuade,85 died on Tuesday, 28,July 2015 in a London hospital.
